Firstly, we would like to acknowledge all Veterans for their service to our country. Veteran's Day was this past Friday and we are grateful and admire their courage. Which brings us to today's topic. . . courage and the kidneys. On the surface, this looks like an odd pairing of words but they are very much intertwined. In addition to having specific functions (which will be addressed below), each organ has a specific emotion associated with it. In this case, the emotion associated with the kidneys is courage. Thus, if one is lacking in courage, strengthening the kidneys will foster this skill. If one's kidneys are weak, participating in events requiring courage will strengthen them. 1. Governs birth, growth, reproduction, development and aging itself. The kidneys are arguably the most important organ in Natural Medicine. They store the "Essence", which can be translated as genetic material or DNA but goes well beyond this. We are born with a certain amount of Essence which cannot be replaced. 6. Regulates the core temperature. Individuals who need a sweater when it is 70 degrees outside are said to have weakness of the kidneys.
