Greetings,
This is this is the third and final
part of our 3 part section on the heart. Here is
a very quick review of the prior sections: - The
heart governs the blood vessels and manifests in
the complexion. Thus facial appearance is a strong
diagnostic tool. - Heart houses the mind and influences
sleep, memory, creativity and emotions such as joy
and sadness. - Heart opens into the tongue and many
dental problems can be traced to the heart. The
3 most important diagnostic (blood) tests for cardio-related
health are:
1. Homocysteine
2. C-Reactive
Protein
3. Lipoprotein.
This is an outstanding and complete testing protocol.

In terms of nutritional support, there
are a number of substances that can be extremely
helpful as both supportive treatment and prevention.
They include the following: - EPA/DHA
complex. More and more research shows the STRONG
correlation between chronic inflammation and cardiovascular
disease (along with others such as arthritis, Alzheimer's
and obesity).
Oils containing the Omega 3's in particular
will reduce and prevent chronic inflammation. -
Folic Acid. This B vitamin has become a "must have"
in virtually everyone's nutritional regimen. It
is one of the major substances in reducing homocysteine
levels and boosting the quality of blood. Can be
taken alone or with a B-complex. Be sure to include
Vitmamin B12 as well. - A combination of Magnesium
(in chelated form), potassium, selenium and Co-Enzyme
Q10. Space restrictions prevent going into great
details regarding the aforementioned but know that
the above is specific for the heart muscle itself.
In terms of herbal support, I have used the following:
1. Ziziphi
Spinosae. This is an outstanding herbal that
nourishes the heart (and the liver) and calms the
mind. It excellent for insomnia, irritability and
palpitations.
-------------------------------------------------------------
The
preferred treatment for elevated C-reactive protein
is an herb called Rhodiola
Rosea. This herb can balance the CRP levels
in as little as 5 days.
-------------------------------------------------------------
2.
Ginseng, particularly Ren
Shen or red ginseng. Please see Vol.1 No.4 of
our eNewsletter for more details. Ren Shen is also
considered an anti-aging herbal for those over 40.
In the upcoming weeks, we will cover
such topics as fibroids,
25 tips for endurance athletes and cognitive preservation.
