Among the so-called bombshells was the revelation that some big name players such as Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte were among the one allegedly using steroids and/or HGH. Some 80 other past and present players were also named.
Of interest of course was the mention (or should I say more accurately, DISTORTION) of the uses of human growth hormone or HGH. It is extremely disturbing to read such distortions and outright misinformation presented in this report as well as to hear those on radio and TV, parrot information that is clear they know nothing about. Radio personalities like Jim Rome and Colin Cowherd along with ESPN commentators make it very clear that their education in the area of human physiology stopped at the high school level. And it was not very good at that.
- HGH can decrease body fat
- Restoring muscle mass
- HGH may reduce wrinkles
- HGH may restore lost hair and restore hair color
- GH increases energy
- HGH increases sexual libido
- May improve cholesterol levels and ratios
- Improve memory
- Elevate mood
- Improve sleep
- HGH may be the most effective, safe anti aging substance known today!
Why do athletes take such as substance? After reading this list, does one really need to ask? Their bodies are their livelihoods and they are looking to protect and maximize every ounce of God given abilities they possess. Somehow, someway, this has been reframes as "cheating." Yes, HGH - a 100% legal substanced used by hundreds of thousands (if not millions) safetly and effectively, is not allowed to be used by those who could benefit from it.
Look at other substances used by pro athletes, prescribed to them via their team doctors that NO ONE bats at eye at. For example, cortisone is both widely used and widely accepted. Have you ever read the side effects of this performance enhancing drug? They are as follows:
Systemic side effects occur as a result of a small amount of the cortisone entering the bloodstream and affecting your entire body, not just the location where the cortisone was given.
Systemic side effects of a local injection of cortisone are rare and usually minor. Unlike taking oral steroids, or having cortisone injected directly into the bloodstream, only a small amount of a local injection is absorbed by the body. And since the body actually produces cortisone naturally, most people do not experience systemic effects.
- Elevated Blood Sugar
The most common systemic reaction is seen in diabetic patients. Patients with diabetes should carefully monitor their blood sugar as cortisone can cause a temporary rise in their levels. Patients taking insulin should be especially careful, checking their blood sugar often and adjusting the insulin doses, if necessary.
- Facial Flushing
Patients may experience flushing sensation and redness of their face. This reaction is more common in women and is seen into up to 15 percent of patients. This can begin within a few hours of the injection and may last for a few days.
Local Side Effects
Local side effects are those that are only experienced in one area of the body. The local side effects of a cortisone injection are also rare.
- Pain
Some patients have discomfort after the injection and may experience an increase in pain 24 to 48 hours after being treated. This usually subsides quickly and can be aided with an ice pack and anti-inflammatory medication.
- Infection
Whenever there is a break in the skin, like when a needle is used to administer cortisone, there is a chance of infection. Your doctor will sterilize the skin to minimize the risk of infection.
- Skin Pigment Changes
Patients with darker skin should also be aware that cortisone may cause skin around the injection site to lighten. This is not harmful.
- Loss of Fatty Tissue
High doses of cortisone can have detrimental effects on some tissues in the body. When injected into fatty tissue, cortisone can lead to a problem called fat atrophy. Fat atrophy causes loss of fatty tissue, which can lead to dimpling of the skin or the thinning out of fat. Patients who get cortisone injections in the heel to treat plantar fasciitis may find walking painful as fat that usually cushions their steps may thin out.
- Tendon Rupture
Cortisone can also cause weakening of tendons. This is one reason your doctor may limit the number of cortisone injections administered. Cortisone can also lead to tendon rupture, as is the case when cortisone is injected for Achilles tendonitis.
Please note that this is a partial list of the side effects of this performance enhancing drug. There are other drugs that are commonly used, are performance enhancing and yet considered "ethical" and "accepted" despite, unlike HGH, the serious side effects.
As per the Mitchell report, they do focus a great deal on HGH and even stated that there should be an "HGH summit." I wonder if the safetly and great usefullness will be presented. Will the other side even have a voice? Yours truly will not hold his breath on this one.
What about Steroids?
Completely different topic. Unlike HGH, steroids have known side effects and even if used "correctly" (if that is possible), risks remain. HGH and steroids are 2 completely separate issues, despite the talking heads.
Big Deal. So the Mitchell Report and Media got it wrong. What is the harm?
Herein is the heart of the matter. There are thousands of people including thousands of our clients who have greatly benefitted from the use of both prescription HGH and HGH releasers such as Hgh Plus. Their lives have greatly improved. Their health has improved. There are numbers of our customers for example, who attribute the use of Hgh Plus to saving their lives!
How many people who need this safe substance, who could benefit greatly from HGH are now turned off because of the misinformation presented to them by the media and the talking heads. They are demanding the players take responsibility for their actions.
Will the media and Sen. Mitchell take responsiblity for THEIR ACTIONS?
